The Malta Under-21 side defeated Italian amateur side ASD Vigor Mellis 7-0 in a friendly match at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

Steve Pisani put the locals ahead on the 20th minute and Jean Paul Farrugia doubled the score on the half-hour. Clyde Borg made it 3-0 one minute from half-time and just before the end of the first half, Farrugia converted a penalty to increase the lead further.

Daren Falzon scored the fifth goal nine minutes in the second half and four minutes later, Daniel Zerafa made it 6-0. Lydon Micallef sealed the issue with a seventh goal on the 82nd minute.
