The Justin Haber saga came to an end on Friday as he joined Birkirkara on a two-and-a-half year deal on a free transfer after being released by Mosta FC earlier in the day.

Haber had joined Mosta this summer after spending last season with Kerkyra in Greece. However in the past days, Birkirkara expressed interest in the Malta national goalkeeper and after being close to signing for the Stripes, the deal seemed to have fallen through earlier this week. But Mosta and Haber eventually reached an agreement to have the contract terminated, therefore paving the way for the thirty-two year old goalkeeper to move elsewhere.

A product of Floriana, Justin Haber made his Premier League debut in season 1998/99, spending a short loan spell with Bulgarian side Dobrudzha Dobrich. In summer 2002, he moved to Birkirkara where he spent three years before joining US Quevilly in France in summer 2005. The following season, he moved to Royal Excelsior Virton in Belgium but mid-way through the season, he returned to Malta to join Marsaxlokk.

In summer 2007, Haber joined AO Haidari in Greece but the following season, he moved to England to join Sheffield United. With the Blades, the Malta international goalkeeper failed to play any matches for the senior team. After failing to break into the first team, in August 2009, Haber was allowed to join their sister club Ferencváros on loan until the end of the year. Five months later, he signed an 18 month contract with the Hungarian side, moving to Kerkyra in summer 2011.

Justin Haber is expected to make his debut for the Stripes in the U*BET FA Trophy fourth round clash with Qormi on Wednesday.
