Mtarfa FC won the third edition of the Roger Strickland Cup after defeating Ta’ Xbiex SC 1-0 in the final at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday. This was the third success for Mtarfa in three editions.

Omar Smeir scored the all-important goal on the 40th minute.

After the final, Mtarfa were presented with the cup by MFA Senior Vice-President Carmelo Bartolo.

Meanwhile Xghajra Tornados placed third after defeating Swieqi United 3-1. Ivo Ginev put Xghajra ahead on the 35th minute. Christian Magro douboled the score ten minutes in the second half but ten minutes later, Matthew Fenech pulled one back for Swieqi. However Ivo Ginev scored again on the 77th minute to seal the issue.
