Stephen Azzopardi no longer Floriana coach

Floriana FC announced that the club and Stephen Azzopardi have reached an agreement to terminate his contract.

Azzopardi had joined the Greens in October after leaving Qormi. In twelve matches under the guidance of Stephen Azzopardi, Floriana won three games and drew five.

After the departure of Joe Brincat at the end of last season, Ivan Woods led Floriana as player-coach in the Euro Cup and UEFA Europa League. Englishman Mark Wright was then appointed coach but personal reasons kept the former Liverpool defender away from the island and the then assistant coach Alan Lewer led the team for a number of matches.

Floriana, who were eliminated from the U*BET FA Trophy after losing 0-1 to Lija Athletic on Wednesday are currently ninth in the BOV Premier League on 23 points and will face Rabat Ajax on Saturday.
