Mosta target win as they eye Championship Pool spot

Mosta will be all out for the three points as they take on Melita on Friday in order to secure a place in the Championship Pool.

The Blues are coming from three consecutive defeats to Tarxien Rainbows, Birkirkara and Qormi but a win over the Amateurs would enable them to secure a top-six finish.

Melita are second from bottom after losing two out of the last three matches. They aim at collecting more precious points from this game in order to close in on Hamrun Spartans.

Luke Sammut returns for the Amateurs after serving a two-match ban.

Meanwhile in the second game, Floriana take on Hibernians.

The Paolites target maximum points from this clash in order to move temporarily on top the BOV Premier League table. They defeated Sliema Wanderers, Hamrun Spartans and Balzan in their last three outings.

Floriana claimed five points from the last six matches thanks to five draws, losing to Mosta.

Now under the guidance of new coach, Iain Brunskill, Floriana could not count on Kane Farrugia and Carl Tremarco as they are suspended but they should have in squad new foreigners Harry Agombar and Rodrigo Branco and former Hibs duo Udo Nwoko and Steve Pisani. New Hibernians signings Edison Luis dos Santos and Obinna Obiefule are both recovering from injuries and are therefore unavailable.
