Alfred Attard has been appointed as coach of Marsaxlokk. He replaces Louis Cutajar who handed his resignation earlier this week.

Marsaxlokk dropped two important points in the race for promotion on Friday as they were held in a goalless draw by Birzebbuga St. Peter’s. However just three points separate them from the leaders Naxxar Lions although they lie in fifth place.

Alfred Attard coached St. Venera Lightnings and Balzan Youths before joining Sliema Wanderers as assistant coach. In season 2008/09, he was appointed coach of St. Patrick. Last season, Attard had a short spell with Sliema Wanderers, this time as technical advisor.
