Barresi also had the opportunity to visit the MFA Technical Centre and its facilities.
As he entered Sliema Wanderers Football Complex he was greeted by the club president Keith Perry, the nursery chairperson Mr Mark Pace, the Director of Youth Coaching Mr Claude Chetcuti and other committee members. He also watched some friendly matches played by youth players from Sliema, Melita and Mosta nurseries.
Barresi then had a very warm and interactive meeting with the nursery’s and other local youth football coaches. This session served as an exchange of best practices and ideas between the local coaches and Barresi’s views both on Napoli Calcio’s setup as well as youth football in general.
Whilst addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Barresi was thankful to the hosts for giving him the opportunity to meet local youth football coaches. As he acknowledged the professional attitude adopted by Sliema Football nursery to expose its coaching staff and young players to foreign football personalities, ideas and expertise, he was very pleased with the passion and interest shown by the coaches.
In his concluding remarks, Barresi said that such an attitude leads to constant improvement and motivation to continue developing a professional career in football.
