After a slow start to his football career in Malta, Sliema Wanderers midfielder Matias Muchardi started to show his true mettle and his constistent performances in February won him the BOV Player of the Month award.

Muchardi’s positive displays have helped Sliema Wanderers keep up the pressure on the leading trio Valletta, Hibernians and Birkirkara after securing a place in the Championship Pool.

The Argentine was instrumental in securing Sliema’s victories over Ħamrun Spartans, Balzan and Birkirkara, where he managed to find the net twice against the Spartans and once against Balzan.

Mr Horace Laudi, manager of the Preluna BOV branch, presented the BOV Player of the Month trophy to Matias. Muchardi donated the cash prize associated with the award to the Ursuline Creche in Sliema.
