BOV Women's Division 1: B'Kara keep the pace with leaders Mosta

BOV-Women-First-Division-12-13Leaders Mosta kept marching on in the BOV Women’s First Division as they registered a 7-0 win over Gozo at the Mgarr Ground.

Dorianne Theuma put the Blues ahead on the 25th minute. They had to wait until four minutes in the second half to double the score thanks to another goal by Dorianne Theuma. Nicole Buttigieg added another two minutes later and increased the lead further on 67 minutes. Natasha Pace made it 5-0 on 72 minutes and then Dorianne Theuma scored twice on 75 and 83 minutes to seal the issue.

Champions Birkirkara kept the pace with the leaders thanks to a 3-1 win over Hibernians at the Mgarr Ground.

Hibernians managed to take the lead thanks to a direct freekick by Ylenia Carabott. However the Stripes levelled matters through Stefania Farrugia. However after the break, Birkirkara showed greater determination and scored twice through Isabelle Mazzitelli and Alishia Sultana to take home the three points.

In the Relegation Pool, Mgarr United came from behind to defeat Tarxien Rainbows 3-1 at the Mgarr Ground.

Kim Magro put the Rainbows ahead on the 6th minute but seven minutes from the end of the first half, Claudette Xuereb equalised. Five minutes in the second half, Jasmine Vella Turner made it 2-1 and Daniela Ebejer sealed the issue with a third goal on 65 minutes.

BOV-Women-Second-Division-12-13BOV Women’s Second Division leaders Raiders (Luxol) lost their hundred percent record, dropping their first points in a 2-2 draw by Kirkop United at the Charles Abela Stadium.

Therese Briffa put Raiders ahead on 22 minutes but a brace by Krystle Attard on 35 minutes and 68 minutes turned the score in Kirkop’s favour. However one minute from time, Davinia Pomroy saved a point for the leaders.

In another match, St. Venera Yellow Blues defeated Lija / Iklin 5-0 at the Zebbug Ground.

Nathalie Grima scored three in the first half on 21, 24 and 41 minutes to put St. Venera three goals ahead. After the break, Christina Dalli increased the lead on the 74th and Sarah Vella sealed the issue with another goal three minutes later. Lija/Iklin goalkeeper Fiona Ellul Bonici performed a number of fine saves to deny their opponents from increasing the lead further.
