BOV Third Division leaders Mdina Knights registered an important 2-0 win over Marsa in a direct clash between two challengers for promotion.

Xghajra Tornados also maintained the challenge for promotion after defeating Marsaskala 2-0.

Mtarfa beat Santa Lucia 4-1, Kalkara defeated Ta’ Xbiex 1-0 while Luqa St. Andrew’s beat Qrendi 3-1. Swieqi United defeated Ghaxaq 2-0. In another match, Sirens and Attard shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Mdina lead the way with 57 points, followed by Senglea on 53, Marsaskala 48, Marsa 47, Xghajra 44, Sirens 41, Mtarfa 35, Attard 32, Santa Lucia 26, Kalkara 25, Ghaxaq 22, Swieqi 21, Luqa and Qrendi 13 and Ta’ Xbiex 7.
