Three-match ban for Ian Zammit

National StadiumSliema Wanderers striker Ian Zammit was handed a three-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after being sent off in the Premier League clash with Birkirkara on Sunday.

Aaron Agius and Renato Conceicao (Balzan), Sean Mintoff (Rabat), Mark Scerri (Sliema) and Branislav Timotic (Tarxien) were banned for one match. Also banned for one match was Terence Scerri as his medical certificate was not submitted to the Malta Football Association.

Ian Zammit is ruled out of the games against Valletta, Hibs and Tarxien. Scerri will also miss the Valletta game. Timotic will be unavailable for the game against Mosta.

Sean Mintoff and Terence Scerri are ruled out of the direct clash against relegation between Rabat and Hamrun. Agius and Conceicao will miss the Floriana game.

Felix Peplow (Birzebbuga), Kain Roomes (Dingli), Andre White (Gzira), John Alegbe (Mqabba), Pablo Cesar Doffo (Naxxar), Jonathan Bilbao Zarate (Pietà), Adam Spiteri (Vittoriosa), Diego Armando Cucciardi and Zvezdan Vukovic (Zejtun) were all banned for one match. Vittoriosa Stars official Marlon Galea was banned for two matches.

In Division 2, Dylan Sammut (Fgura) was banned for two matches while Bydasser Sammut (Gharghur), Josuel Caruana (Kirkop), Mark Vassallo (San Gwann), Steve Agius (St. George’s), Karl Cilia, Darren Rapa and Rudi Carbonaro (St. Venera), Daniel Zammit and Matthew Cocks (Zurrieq) were all handed a one-match ban. San Gwann coach Michael Molzahn and St. George’s kit manager Clayton Haidon were banned for two matches while Pembroke assistant coach Godwin Gatt was suspended for one match.

Ryan Cauchi (Marsaskala) was banned for two matches in Division 3. Jonathan Cachia (Kalkara), Clayton Caruana and Dylan Agius (Marsa), Jurgen Gerada (Marsaskala), Omar Smeir (Mtarfa), Steve Scicluna and Clive Psaila (Qrendi), Rodney Galea (Senglea), Calum Muscat (Sirens) and Marlon Farrugia (Santa Lucia) were suspended for one game.

Matthew Sciortino (Mqabba), Yuri Martines de Oliveira (Naxxar), Justin Cilia (Zejtun), Matthew Schembri (Zurrieq) and Fulvio Azzopardi (Xghajra) were banned for one match as they lack the medical certificate.
