Marsa moved an important step towards securing promotion to Division 2 as they defeated Xghajra Tornados 2-0 in a direct clash in the BOV Third Division. Marsa move five points ahead of Xghajra with two games to go for the end of the season.

Marsaskala are just one point away from promotion after defeating Sirens 2-0.

Leaders Senglea Athletic kept marching on with a 5-0 win over Attard and are now just two points away from the title as Mdina, who secured promotion last week, suffered a 0-1 defeat to Qrendi.

Swieqi United and Ta’ Xbiex defeated Kalkara and Mtarfa respectively with a narrow 1-0 score. Ghaxaq and Santa Lucia shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Senglea lead the way with 65 points, followed by Mdina on 60, Marsaskala 57, Marsa 56, Xghajra 51, Sirens 41, Mtarfa 35, Attard 33, Santa Lucia 30, Kalkara 29, Swieqi 28, Ghaxaq 26, Qrendi 16, Luqa 15 and Ta’ Xbiex 10.
