Decisive game for Rabat Ajax

rabat-melita120825Rabat Ajax cannot afford dropping any points as they take on Melita in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Friday at the Hibernians Stadium.

The Magpies, however, are yet to register their first win over the Amateurs this season as the three clashes ended in draws – 3-3, 0-0 and 2-2.

Rabat lie third from bottom on 16 points, one ahead of Hamrun Spartans, with Melita lying at the bottom of the table with ten points. Melita could only force a decider should they beat Rabat and then Hamrun next week, hoping that Rabat lose to Balzan next week and Hamrun do not go beyond a draw in Sunday’s clash with Floriana. On the other hand, Rabat have to beat Melita and hope that Hamrun lose to Floriana in order to secure their Premier League status.

In their last outing, Rabat lost 1-2 to Floriana while Melita suffered a 1-2 defeat to Balzan.

The Amateurs welcome back Manuel Ramon Sierra Camacho and Karl Vella Petroni but Matthew Borg, Jean Pierre Attard and Nigel Rizzo are ruled out through suspension. Justin Felice is suspended for Rabat.

Meanwhile in the first match, Qormi take on Balzan.

Qormi are coming from three successive wins over Melita, Rabat and Hamrun. Balzan, on the other hand, beat Melita 2-1 last week to make sure of playing in the BOV Premier League next year.

Balzan registered two 2-1 wins over Qormi with the third round clash ending in a 4-4 draw.
