Champions Birkirkara and Super Cup winners Mosta will be contesting the final of the Women’s Knock-Out on Wednesday at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 19:00.

After defeating Pembroke Athleta 1-0 in the quarter-finals, the Stripes beat Tarxien Rainbows 3-0 in last Friday’s semi-final. On the other hand, Mosta beat Hibernians 6-5 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the end of extra-time in the quarter-finals while in the semi-finals, they scored twice in extra-time to beat Gozo 2-0.

The two teams met five times this season. Mosta won the Women’s Super Cup on penalties following a goalless draw. In the BOV Women’s First Division, Mosta won the first round clash 3-1 while the second and third round clashes ended in draws – 1-1 and 2-2. The last clash turned out to be decisive for the championship with Birkirkara winning 1-0 thanks to a stoppage-time goal.
