Women's national team representatives visit St. Patrick School

women-nt-visit-stpatrick2013The latest school to be honoured by a visit of the national women’s team representatives was St. Patrick Salesian School in Sliema. The national team coach Pierre Brincat and Tasha Pace were at the school premises on Friday 24th May at the invitation of one of the teachers during the Puttinu Cares campaign.

Every year the school marks its presentation awards to students by inviting a top sports personality that is currently doing well. This time it was the women’s national team who had just qualified in the World Cup preliminary qualifiers held in Malta in April as top of the group.

Pierre Brincat was impressed by the warm welcome of the boys who, it transpired, were very well informed about the team and the players. The coach said he was amazed by the great bond there is between the teachers and the students.

Tasha Pace was equally pleased, remarking that she really enjoyed the experience. The fact that the boys were interested in football and that they followed the women’s competitions was surprising.

Both representatives of our national team must have savoured memories of their warm welcome by the boys.
