Despite being granted a full licence, Floriana and Marsaxlokk were hit by sanctions by the MFA Licensing Board over pending amounts which were not paid by Wednesday’s noon deadline.

The MFA Licensing Board ordered a six-point deduction for Floriana at the start of the BOV Premier League 2013/14 as they failed to pay the €20,000 due.

On the other hand, Marsaxlokk had eight points deducted at the start of the BOV First Division 2013/14 for failing to make the payment of €28,000 by the deadline.

Prohibitions were imposed on the two clubs which will be lifted once the amount due are settled.

Floriana and Marsaxlokk have the right to appeal.
