Players to benefit from general amnesty confirmed

National StadiumThe Malta Football Association confirmed the list of players who will benefit from the general amnesty granted by the Council following a proposal by the MFA Executive Committee.

Players who were yet to serve a suspension of one or more matches following decisions by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner or the MFA Board of Control & Discipline taken before August 1st, 2013 will also benefit from this amnesty.

The players who were serving term-suspensions ranging from three months to five years are Eugenio Abela (Fgura), Anthony Bajada (Gharb Rangers – Gozo), Manuel Bartolo (Valletta), Mark Buttigieg (Xghajra), Abdul Karim Coulibaly (B’Kara JRS Stars – IASC), Tiago Henrique Loquete (Mellieha), Mark Micallef (Zabbar) and Matthew Zahra (Ghaxaq) while the officials are Sunny Abela (Mellieha), Omar Camilleri (Luqa) and Marvic Stivala (Naxxar).

On Wednesday, Jose Luis Armario Negrin (Balzan) and Roderick Sammut (Qormi) were banned for one-match after being sent off in matches from the AME Cup. They will therefore miss the first league game.
