Ghedin names final squad for Azerbaijan friendly

ghedin-in-bulgariaNational coach Pietro Ghedin named the final twenty-man squad which will travel to Baku for Wednesday’s friendly match against Azerbaijan at the Bakcell Arena, kick-off at 18:00 CET.

This will be the fourth friendly match between the two countries with the previous three being played at Ta’ Qali. Malta won 5-0 in 1994, 3-0 in 2000 and 1-0 in 2002.

From the provisional squad, Ghedin dropped goalkeeper Glenn Zammit of Sliema, Balzan defender Justin Grioli and striker Terence Vella. The squad includes two foreign-based players – Andrei Agius who has just joined Torres Sassari and Omonia Nicosia striker Andre Schembri.

The players selected by Ghedin are:

defenders Andrei Agius, Jacob Borg, Ryan Camilleri, Clayton Failla, Clifford Gatt Baldacchino;
