The Malta Under-17 side lost 4-0 to Wales in a friendly match at the Dragon Park National Football Development Centre in Newport on Tuesday.

This was the first of two friendly matches against Wales. Friendly matches which form part of the Under-17s’ preparation ahead of next May’s UEFA Under-17 Championship finals commitments.

William Abotts put Wales ahead on 18 minutes and Joseff Morell doubled the score nine minutes later. Three minutes in the second half, George Thomas scored the third goal and on the hour, Ioan Evans sealed the issue with the fourth goal.

The second friendly match is scheduled for Thursday.
