Hibs Futsal end their commitments with a win

UEFA-Futsal-CupHibernians Futsal placed second in the UEFA Futsal Cup Preliminary Round Group G mini-tournament which was played in Tampere, Finland, after claiming a win and a draw, losing only to group winners Hamburg Panthers.

In the opening match on Wednesday, Hibernians shared the exchanges with their opponents during the first half, taking the lead and after going 1-2 down, levelling matters. However the strong German side scored five in the second half to claim the three points.

On Thursday, Hibs earned a point in a 2-2 draw with hosts Ilves. Stenholm put the hosts ahead but a brace by Boycho Marev before the end of the first half put the Paolites ahead. Lahtinen scoequalised for Ilves.

On Saturday, Hibernians emerged as winners in the clash with JB Futsal Gentofte of Denmark, beating them 3-2. Boycho Marev gave the Paolites an early lead and Georgi Gerasimov doubled the score. Gentofte hit back with goals by Jorgensen and Espinosa during the second half but David Bobokhidze notched the winner for Hibernians.
