Rabat Ajax, Qormi seek first points

bov-premier-league-2013-2014Rabat Ajax and Qormi will be seeking their first points on Sunday as they take on Mosta and Tarxien Rainbows respectively in the two matches in programme at the National Stadium.

Rabat Ajax vs Mosta, kick-off 18:30 at National Stadium

After losing to Birkirkara and Balzan, Rabat hope to claim their first point from this game which puts coach Steve D’Amato against his former team. The Magpies did quite well in the game with Birkirkara but disappointed in the 0-2 defeat to Balzan. Over the past days, they signed Patrick Borg from Birkirkara but lost Justin Felice who will be joining Hamrun Spartans in Division 1. Joseph Caruana and Adam Smeir are recovering from injuries.

Mosta, on the other hand, seek a second successive win after beating Vittoriosa Stars 2-0 last week. Against Rabat, they should have new foreigners making their debut after continuing to strengthen the squad.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Qormi, kick-off 20:30 at National Stadium

Qormi also seek their first points after losing 0-4 to Sliema Wanderers and 1-2 to Naxxar Lions in the first two outings. Coach Tommaso Volpi is expected to make further changes to the starting line-up, possibly with the inclusion of new foreigners.

Tarxien, on the other hand, target another win after beating Floriana 2-1 last week. Marko Potezica will be back after serving a one-match ban.
