Gozitan side Xaghra United and Luqa St. Andrew’s from the Third Division were the first two teams to reach the second round of the U*BET FA Trophy.

Xaghra United defeated St. Venera Lightnings 2-1 after extra-time thanks to goals by Raymond Owusu and Sunday Baala.

On the other hand, Luqa St. Andrew’s defeated Santa Lucia 2-1. Jason Galea put Santa Lucia ahead after just seven minutes. Charles Camilleri levelled matters on 62 minutes and a penalty by Jason Good on 74 minutes put Luqa in the second round.

In the second round, Xaghra United face Mqabba while Luqa will be meeting the winner of the all-Gozitan clash between Kercem Ajax and St. Laurence Spurs.

On Thursday, Victoria Hotspurs face Munxar Falcons while Kercem Ajax take on St. Laurence Spurs.
