Valletta FC Youth Nursery Under-11 team led by Coach Joe Abela and Assistant Coach Marlon Cassar recently travelled to Sicily and took part in the SSD Santa Sofia Calcio Licata SRL Tournament in the Pulcini Categoria 2003.

The young Valletta lads won all their group matches topping their respective group. After winning their second round game, they proceeded to win the quarter final and semi final games only to lose the final on penalties after a close fought game which ended up in draw. Several teams mainly located in Sicily participated in the tournament which was described as very well organized and greatly enjoyed by one and all.

Overall this tournament provided the participants with an enjoyable experience and some international experience to treasure. At the end of the tournament, our lads were presented with the Fair Play trophy for their exemplary conduct during the tournament.
