Women's Under-19 side hold Serbia in 2-2 draw

UEFA-Women-Under-19The Malta Women’s Under-19 national team held hosts Serbia in a 2-2 draw in the opening match from Group 6 of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship first qualifying round mini-tournament at the FK Srem Stadium in Jakovo.

Following a goalless first half, Jankov put Serbia ahead on 56 minutes and two minutes later, Matić doubled the score. Substitute Raina Giusti, who had just replaced Jade Flask, pulled one back on the 85th minute and one minute from time, Brenda Borg notched the equaliser.

The team will be in action once again on Monday against the Netherlands. In another match on Saturday, the Netherlands defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0.
