St. Andrews and Melita earned a point each as they shared the spoils in a goalless draw in the derby in a BOV First Division clash at the Luxol Stadium.

The Saints had Neil Chetcuti sent off on 27 minutes but still managed to hold their opponents at bay.

In the first match, Zurrieq returned to winning ways as they defeated Msida St. Joseph 2-1.

Stefan Giglio put David Carabott’s side ahead on 12 minutes and Osi Lucky Agboebina doubled the score on the 24th. Ariel Laudisi scored a consolation goal for Msida two minutes in the second half.

St. Andrews and Pietà lead the way with 11 points followed by Melita on 10, Lija and Melita 9, Gzira, St. George’s, Zurrieq and Zebbug 7, Birzebbuga 6, Zejtun 4, Gudja 3, Msida 1 and Hamrun -7.
