Marsaxlokk FC have another two points deducted

MFAMarsaxlokk had another two points deducted by the MFA Control and Disciplinary Board after failing to honour decisions of the Players, Coaches, Players Agents and Member Clubs Complaints Board to make payments to two former players.

On the 9th July, the latter board had ordered Marsaxlokk FC to pay Matthew Clarke €600 by the 15th September and on the 7th August, it had ordered the club to pay Rupert Mangion €1,800 by the 21st August.

Since the club failed to make the payments by these deadlines, the MFA Control and Disciplinary Board found Marsaxlokk FC guilty and ordered that in each case, the club had to make the payments immediately plus 8% interest from the dates of the Players, Coaches, Players, Agents and Member Clubs Complaints Board’s decisions. A prohibition on transfers was imposed on the club and had one point deducted from the table for season 2013/14 for each case.

Marsaxlokk started their BOV Third Division commitments with a minus eight points, following a decision by the MFA Licensing Board last August after failing to make a payment of €28,000 by the 31st July deadline.

The Southseasiders played six matches so far, collecting four points in a win over Swieqi United and a draw with Mtarfa, moving to minus four points. However with this fresh two-point deduction, Marsaxlokk now lie on the minus six points mark.
