Hibernians aim at bounce back after draw

Victor Tedesco StadiumLeaders Hibernians will be hoping to return to winning ways on Sunday as they take on Floriana in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The Paolites were held in a 2-2 draw by Sliema Wanderers last week to lose their hundred percent record but against Floriana, they aim for the three points to move four points clear of Valletta.

Floriana won three of the last five matches played but are still third from bottom after starting the season with a minus six points. In their last outing, they came from behind to beat Mosta 2-1.

The Greens could not count on the injured Andre Scicluna and Sunday Eboh while Daniel Bogdanovic is suspended by the club. Hibernians welcome back Ryan Camilleri and Zoran Levnajic but Edison Luis dos Santos is ruled out as he serves a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the first match, Mosta take on Qormi.

The Blues disappointed in a 1-2 defeat to Floriana last week but a win on Sunday would enable them to leapfrog rivals Naxxar Lions and move fifth. Qormi, on the other hand, suffered the sixth defeat in eight matches, losing 2-1 to Balzan. They have now gone five matches without a win.

Qormi coach Tommaso Volpi once again has a depleted side due to the absence of Roderick Sammut, Triston Caruana, Jorge Pereira da Silva and Francesco D’Aniello. Mosta, on the other hand, will be without the injured Diego Pereira and Ryan Grech.
