Hibernians held in another 2-2 draw

hibs-floriana131027JBAfter dropping two points in a 2-2 draw with Sliema last week, Hibernians dropped another two points in another 2-2 draw, this time with Floriana.

Hibs now enjoy just a two-point lead over Valletta and three over Birkirkara. Floriana, on the other hand, obtain another important point although they are still second from bottom after Qormi’s win over Mosta.

The Paolites welcomed back Zoran Levnajic but Ryan Camilleri and Edison Luis dos Santos were unavailable. Floriana lacked Sunday Eboh and Andre Scicluna apart from Daniel Bogdanovic.

Floriana managed to take the lead on the 20th when Steve Pisani received an assist on the right flank and beat Mario Muscat with a diagonal shot from the right.

However four minutes later, Hibs equalised four minutes later when Rodolfo Soares headed the ball home off a Clayton Failla freekick.

Hibernians regained the lead on 28 minutes when off a pass by Jean Paul Farrugia from the left, Clayton Failla’s rising shot beat goalkeeper Daniel Hanford.

Floriana restored equilibrium on 78 minutes thanks to a diagonal shot from the left by Igor Coronado which beat Hibs goalkeeper Mario Muscat.
