BOV Division 2: Pembroke Athleta move top

mellieha-kirkop131103Pembroke Athleta move top of the BOV Second Division thanks to a 2-1 win over Gharghur in one of the four matches in programme on Sunday. A win which puts them on the 15-point mark, one ahead of San Gwann and Zabbar St. Patrick.

Jonathan Mifsud put Pembroke ahead on 54 minutes, David Mamo doubled the score on 65 minutes with Ryan Debattista scoring a consolation goal twelve minutes from time.

Mellieha registered a 4-2 win over Kirkop United.

Gilbert Camilleri put Mellieha ahead on 34 minutes and four minutes later, Chris Abela doubled the score. Four minutes in the second half, Matthew Caruana pulled one back for Kirkop but Chris Abela made it 3-1 two minutes later. Jeffrey Zammit scored a second goal for Kirkop on 57 minutes but Julian Vella sealed the issue with a fourth goal on 74 minutes.

A goal by Timmy Thomas on the 37th minute enabled Senglea Athletic to beat Siggiewi 1-0. On the other hand, a goal by Alistair Camilleri four minutes in the second half gave Mqabba a 1-0 win over Marsa.

Pembroke lead the way with 15 points, followed by San Gwann and Zabbar 14, Fgura and Mqabba 13, Mellieha 11, Senglea and Gharghur 9, Mdina and Kirkop 8, Marsa 6, Siggiewi 5, Marsaskala 4 and Dingli 1.
