Six Premier League players suspended

20110417-114224.jpgTwo players were suspended for two matches and another four were suspended for one match by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches from the BOV Premier League.

Mattia Del Negro of Naxxar Lions and Shaun Gauci of Rabat Ajax were both banned for two matches while Naxxar’s Angus Buhagiar, Rabat’s Clifford Gauci, Tarxien’s Nicky Vella and Vittoriosa’s Michael Camilleri were all handed a one-match ban.

Del Negro and Buhagiar are ruled out of the game against Hibernians with Del Negro also missing the Floriana clash. The Gauci duo are ruled out of Rabat’s next game against Sliema with Shaun Gauci also missing the first match from the second round against Birkirkara. Nicky Vella skips the game against Mosta while Michael Camilleri is ruled out of Vittoriosa vs Birkirkara.

In Division 1, Zurrieq duo Karl Sacco and Stephen Wellman were banned for two matches while Bjorn Bondin (Gzira), Luciano Mutasi (Pietà) and Miguel Francica (Zebbug) were suspended for one match. Lija kit-manager Sunny Scerri and Pietà club official Joe Sammut were suspended for two matches.

In Division 2, Jonathan Bugeja (Fgura), Andrew Hili (Kirkop) and Andre Cassar (Mqabba) were banned for one match while Shawn D’Amato (Santa Lucia) was banned for one match in Division 3.
