hibs-nursery-coaches-bolton-acad2013A group of five coaches from the Paola Hibs Youth Nursery have recently attended a seminar at the Bolton Wanderers football academy in a European Union Life Learning Programme. The group headed by the nursery’s Head Coach, Darren Abdilla had the opportunity to work closely with one of the top academies in the UK.

The aim of the visit was to see how professional coaches work within their academy so that our coaches can implement the vision on youth football in the nursery.
Healthy discussions among the participants made the lectures very interesting and interactive. Academy staff conducted various lectures amongst which on Sports Science, Game Analysis, Fitness and Tactics. The coaches all had the opportunity to see various academy training sessions, headed by Sammy Lee, an ex Liverpool player and ex Bolton Wanderers manager.

The group stayed at the Reebok Stadium and had the chance to watch two Championship games which involved Bolton against Leeds and Derby.

This Lifelong Learning Programme, supported by MEUSAC and funded by the European Commission was another step forward for these coaches to increase the knowledge in this important technical sector
