Referees' exchanges with Poland and Cyprus

marco-edward-mitchellAnother two referees’ exchange agreement for exchange of officials for matches in the respective countries has been reached – this time with the Polish Football Federation and the Cyprus Football Association.

These exchanges are part of the Malta FA’s commitment to upgrade the refereeing sector by providing opportunities for further development to our international and top category officials.

On Friday, FIFA Referee Marco Borg accompanied by FIFA Assistant Referees Edward Spiteri and Mitchell Scerri, and Marcin Borski (Poland) as Fourth Official, will be in charge of the ‘A’ International Friendly Match Poland vs Slovakia, to be played at the EURO 2012 Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw in front of a full house of 42,771 spectators while on Tuesday 19th, the ‘A’ International Friendly Match Malta vs Faroe Islands at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali, will be controlled by Polish officials FIFA Referee Marcin Borski, FIFA Assistant Referees Rafal Rostkowski and Krzysztof Myrmus; while Marco Borg (Malta FA) will act as Fourth Official.

pisani-debattista-apapAlso on Friday, FIFA Referee Clayton Pisani accompanied by FIFA Assistant Referee William Debattista and Elite Assistant Referee Paul Apap, and a Fourth Official to be appointed by the Cyprus FA, will be in charge of the Under 21 International Friendly Match – Cyprus vs Czech Republic.

The finalisation of this referees’ exchange with Cyprus is another in an on-going series of similar experiences which in the last couple of seasons have been taken in hand by the Malta FA Referees’ Department.
