After losing the first two matches, Mqabba continued their comeback with a seventh consecutive positive result as they defeated Gharghur 2-0 in the only match from the BOV Second Division in programme on Saturday.

This win puts Leslie Burke’s side in second place, one point behind leaders Pembroke Athleta who however have a game in hand.

Pembroke Athleta lead the way with 18 points, followed by Mqabba on 17, Fgura on 16, San Gwann and Zabbar 15, Mellieha 14, Gharghur 12, Senglea 10, Mdina and Kirkop 8, Marsa 6, Siggiewi 5, Marsaskala and Dingli 4.
