Kevin Azzopardi to control UEFA Youth League match

Kevin-Azzopardi-FIFA-RefereeUEFA has appointed FIFA Referee Kevin Azzopardi for the UEFA Youth League Group B match – Juventus Football Club Youth vs F.C. København Youth, to be played on Wednesday at the Stadio Gino Pistoni, Ivrea.

The other members of the refereeing team will be FIFA Assistant Referees Ingmar Spiteri and Alan Camilleri, while Emilio Ostinelli (Italy) will act as Fourth Official.

Francesco Bianchi (Switzerland) has been appointed as referee observer.

All teams in the competition have played four matches each. Real Madrid CF are the leaders of Group B with 8 points, followed by F.C. København on 6 points, Juventus have 4 points and Galatasaray AS have 2 points.

The first match between the two sides in Copenhagen was keenly contested and ended in a 2-2 draw.

Access to the competition is reserved for the youth Under 19 teams of the 32 participating clubs in the UEFA Champions’ League. The top two teams from each group qualify for the next round of 16.

This is Kevin Azzopardi’s seventh international match as a referee in his first year on the FIFA List. He was also the Fourth Official in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier, San Marino vs Poland, in September.
