Leaders Pembroke Athleta suffered their first defeat in the BOV Second Division as they lost 0-1 to Marsaskala in one of the six matches in programme on Saturday.

However the other teams challenging for promotion failed to take advantage as they failed to win.

Fgura United and Mqabba shared the spoils in a goalless draw while Mellieha and Zabbar St. Patrick earned a point each in a 1-1 draw. Gharghur joined Mellieha in fifth place thanks to a 1-0 win over San Gwann.

Dingli Swallows collected three precious points in a 2-1 win over Senglea Athletic while Kirkop United and Siggiewi drew 1-1.

Pembroke lead the way with 27 points, followed by Fgura on 24, Mqabba 22, Zabbar 21, Mellieha and Gharghur 19, San Gwann and Senglea 17, Marsa 14, Kirkop and Marsaskala 11, Mdina and Dingli 8 and Siggiewi 7.
