BOV Division 1: Zebbug keep the pace with leaders Pietà

bov-first-division-2013-2014Zebbug Rangers kept the pace with leaders Pietà Hotspurs as they registered a fine 4-1 win over St. Andrews in one of the four matches from the BOV First Division.

This was the fourth successive win for Jesmond Zammit’s side while for the Saints, this was the third defeat in four matches.

Melita could not go beyond a 2-2 draw with Birzebbuga St. Peter’s, therefore staying four points behind the leaders.

Despite having to play in ten men for over an hour, Hamrun Spartans still managed to earn a point in a goalless draw with Gzira United. For the Maroons, this was the third successive draw.

On the other hand, Gudja United returned to winning ways as they beat Zejtun Corinthians 2-0.

Pietà lead the way with 21 points, followed by Zebbug on 20, Melita 17, Lija 16, Birzebbuga 14, St. Andrews and St. George’s 12, Gzira and Gudja 11, Zejtun 10, Zurrieq 8, Msida 5 and Hamrun -1.
