Seven Premier League players suspended

National StadiumSeven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the weekend’s matches.

The players are Rodrigo Frank Pereira (Balzan), Joseph Zerafa (Birkirkara), Ishmael Grech (Mosta), Ivan Carapic (Rabat), Josef Mifsud (Tarxien), Roderick Briffa (Valletta) and Siraj Arab Eddin (Vittoriosa)

Rodrigo Pereira and Ishmael Grech are ruled out of Mosta vs Balzan, Siraj Arab will miss the game against Qormi, Ivan Carapic the game against Floriana, Josef Mifsud the game against his former club Sliema, Roderick Briffa the match against Naxxar and Joseph Zerafa the big match against Hibernians.

Tarxien coach Clive Mizzi and Vittoriosa team manager Marlon Galea were both banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Joseph Farrugia (St. Andrews) was suspended for two matches while Clint Farrugia (Gudja), Bjorn Bondin (Gzira), Adrian Borg (Hamrun), Andrew Spiteri and Cleaven Cassar (Pietà), Randall Vella (St. George’s) and Kenneth Scicluna (Zebbug) were all banned for one match.

Hamrun Spartans official Stephen Saliba was banned for two matches.

In Division 2, Mellieha coach Dennis Fenech was suspended for four matches. Brian Zammit (Marsa) was banned for three matches while Lydon Cilia (Gharghur) and Karl Vassallo (Marsaskala) were suspended for two matches.

Karl Cutajar and Ryan Debattista (Gharghur), Elvin Gauci (Marsaskala), Gilbert Camilleri and Isaac Sammut (Mellieha), Bruno Ferraz do Amaral (San Gwann) and Jurgen Farrugia (St. Patrick) were handed a one-match ban. San Gwann team manager Ray Colombo was banned for two matches.

Ludvic Fardell (Ghaxaq) was banned for two matches in Division 3 while Terence Cachia (Qrendi), Mohammed Sanussi Atlesi (Santa Lucia), Ryan Bezzina (Sta. Venera) and Glendon Refalo (Swieqi) were all suspended for one match.
