Seven Premier League players suspended

20110417-114224.jpgSeven Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Rabat Ajax midfielder Aidan Azzopardi was banned for two matches while Fabio Vignaroli (Balzan), Andre Scicluna (Floriana), Lukas Duriska (Mosta), Victor Bellia (Naxxar), Pavle Velimirovic (Rabat) and Stefano Bianciardi (Sliema) were all suspended for one match.

Aidan Azzopardi misses the next two games against Tarxien and Valletta while Velimirovic is ruled out of the Tarxien game. Andre Scicluna and Lukas Duriska are ruled out of Mosta vs Floriana, Bianciardi the game against Hibernians, Vignaroli the match against Qormi and Bellia the game against Birkirkara.

Vittoriosa Stars president Erskine Vella was banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Gzira United official Don Spagnol was banned for one year, St. George’s coach Edgar Degabriele was suspended for two matches while Gudja United kit manager George Caruana and Pietà Hotspurs kit manager Anthony Cassar were suspended for one match.

Kyle Gerada (Gzira) and Pellegrino Albanese (Msida) were both suspended for two matches while Dylan D’Agostino (Gudja), Melvin Busuttil (Hamrun), Matthew Borg and Nigel Rizzo (Melita), Glenn Tanti and Josuel Spiteri (Zejtun) and Zvezdan Vukovic (Zurrieq) were banned for one match.

In Division 2, Paolo Ciantar (Dingli), Alistair Scerri (Gharghur), Adrian Gatt (Marsaskala), Robert Perkins (Mellieha), Matthew Calleja Cremona (Pembroke), Rodney Galea (Senglea) and Thomas Caruana (St. Patrick) were all handed a one-match ban.

On the other hand, Elton Dimech and Kenneth Spiteri (Ghaxaq), Karl Magri, Clayton Mifsud, Matthew Cassar and Andrea Hammett (Kalkara), Jean Claude Vella (Marsaxlokk), Joseph Munyao Mwema (Mtarfa), Justin Zammit (Sirens) and Darren Rapa (St. Venera) were suspended for one match in Division 3.
