Postponed matches to be played on Monday

hibs-qormi130928Hibernians hope to collect the three points in order to keep the pace with the top two as they take on Qormi in one fo the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium on Monday. The games were originally scheduled for Saturday but had to be postponed due to the bad weather which hit the Maltese islands.

After losing to Mosta and Sliema, the Paolites bounced back with a 4-0 win over Floriana. Qormi, on the other hand, lost five of the last six matches and are currently second from bottom.

For Hibernians, Bjorn Kristensen and Clayton Failla are both suspended while Andrew Cohen is still recovering from an injury. Owen Bugeja and Triston Caruana are ruled out through suspension for Qormi but new signing Mohammed Bance should make his debut for Karel Zeman’s side.

In the first round, Hibs defeated Qormi 4-1.

Meanwhile in the second match, Sliema aim at extending their positive as they take on a Floriana side which lost any chances of securing a place in the Championship Pool after suffering four consecutive defeats.

The Wanderers secured the services of Kane Farrugia on loan from Mosta who is therefore expected to make his debut. Clifford Gatt Baldacchino returns for Sliema after serving a one-match ban. Floriana should have Nigerian striker John Roland Emeka making his first appearance after joining the club from St. George’s.

In the first round, Sliema beat Floriana 1-0.
