Eleven Premier League players suspended

20110417-114224.jpgEleven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

The players are Steve Bezzina and Andrew Scicluna (Balzan), Zoran Levnajic (Hibs), Manolito Micallef (Mosta), Andrew Decesare and Gilmar da Silva Ribeiro (Naxxar), Mark Scerri, Paltemio Barbetti and John Mintoff (Sliema), Carlos Menendez Hevia (Tarxien) and Gilbert Martin (Vittoriosa).

Bezzina and Scicluna are ruled out of the decisive clash for Balzan against Valletta while Decesare and Gilmar will miss another decisive clash for Naxxar against Hibernians. Levnajic will also miss the Naxxar vs Hibs clash. Mano Micallef and Carlos Menendez Hevia will miss the game between Tarxien and Mosta. Scerri, Barbetti and Mintoff are ruled out of Sliema’s game against bottom-placed Rabat.

In Division 1, Dennis Baldacchino and Glanville Goodlip (Birzebbuga), Ranier Buhagiar (Gudja), Gianluca Calabretta (Lija), Julian Galea (Melita), Ariel Laudisi (Msida), Lee Galea (Zebbug) and Isaak Briffa (Zejtun) were all banned for one match.

Neil Farrugia and Kurt Pace (Dingli) and Peter Xuereb (San Gwann) were suspended for one game in Division 2. Senglea team manager George Attard was also banned for one game.

In Division 3, Julien Iwueke (Attard), Jason Good (Luqa), Nikola Slavtchev Stoychev (Luqa), Fabian Baldacchino (Marsaxlokk), Gary Caruana (Mtarfa) and Rudi Carbonaro (Sta. Venera) were all handed a one-match ban.
