Four Premier League players suspended

20110208-101108.jpgFour Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the mid-week programme from the BOV Premier League.

Dylan Grima (Balzan), Raimi Bakare (Naxxar), Jorge Santos Silva and Steve Bonnici (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of the next matches in programme on March 8 and 9.

Grima is ruled out of the Championship Pool clash against Hibernians. Jorge Santos and Bonnici will miss Tarxien’s next game against Floriana while Bakare is ruled out of the clash with Qormi.

Naxxar team-manager David Vella was banned for three months, up to May 25.

In Division 2, Gilbert Camilleri (Mellieha) was banned for one match.

On Wednesday, Beppe Antignolo (Lija) was banned for two matches while Ranier Buhagiar (Gudja), Pape Gueye and Steve Meilak (Gzira), Alan Tabone and John Nwoba (Zebbug) and Stefan Giglio (Zurrieq) were suspended for one match.

In Division 2, Kurt Formosa (Mdina) and Andreas Galea (Fgura) were banned for three matches and two matches respectively while Neil Curmi (Marsa), David Azzopardi (Mqabba), Mark Borg (Pembroke), Brady Zerafa (Senglea) and Joey Reno Vella (St. Patrick) were handed a one-match ban. Dingli Swallows coach Roland Sollars and Fgura United team manager Anthony Gafa were banned for two matches

Clint Caruana (Attard), Christian Bordieri (M’Xlokk), Jonathan Ebejer (Mgarr), Cleaven Mizzi (Mtarfa), Lee Joe Schembri (Sirens) and Kenneth Ekezie (Swieqi) were banned for one match while Marsaxlokk officials Tony Bugeja and Cedric Baldacchino were banned for two matches.
