After collecting just one point from the last two matches, Zebbug Rangers returned to winning ways as they defeated Gzira United 1-0 in one of two matches from the BOV First Division in programme on Sunday.

The Rangers move three points behind leaders Pietà Hotspurs and six ahead of third-placed Lija Athletic.

In another match, Zurrieq claimed three important points in a direct clash between teams fighting to avoid relegation as they defeated Msida St. Joseph 3-1.

Pietà lead the way with 39 points, followed by Zebbug on 36, Lija 30, Melita 26, St. Andrews 25, St. George’s 24, Gudja 22, Gzira 20, Birzebbuga 19, Zurrieq 18, Zejtun 14, Msida 11 and Hamrun 7.
