Liverpool coaches to hold sessions in community

liverpool-foundationA group of six coaches from the Liverpool Football Club Foundation team, who specialise in the field of community work, are currently in Malta where they will be conveying some of their outstanding services to local communities.

Apart from three training sessions to kids between the age of five and fourteen at the Qormi FC facilities, the coaches will be visiting two local schools – the Birzebbuga Primary School and the St. Paul’s Missionary College in Rabat. The objective of their school visits is to carry out disability awareness sessions to the kids to generate awareness amongst them on what it feels like to be blind or deaf. All this will be done in a football environment using special tools such as footballs with inbuilt sounds during movement and sound-proof earphones.

The highlight of their stay is a football session to promote fun with kids with special needs. Two coaches from the group are amongst the most qualified in this sector and these will bring their expertise to our kids.

This event will be held at the Mgarr Football Ground on Thursday 13th March at 4.00pm and will involve kids with different conditions such as Down Syndrome and Autism.
