BOV Second Division leaders Fgura United moved another step towards securing promotion to Division 1 as they beat bottom-placed Mdina Knights 2-0 on Friday.

A brace by Joseph Okonkwo enabled Fgura to register a sixth consecutive win and move six points clear of Pembroke Athleta, who however have a game in hand.

Fgura lead the way with 46 points, followed by Pembroke on 40, Mqabba 39, Zabbar 35, San Gwann 34, Mellieha 32, Gharghur 27, Senglea 25, Marsa 22, Marsaskala 20, Dingli 18, Kirkop 17, Siggiewi 16 and Mdina 9.
