Xewkija maintain five-point lead

Gozo-Football-AssociationXewkija Tigers maintain a five-point lead in the Melita First Division in Gozo as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw by SK Victoria Wanderers.

Gilbert Agius gave the Tigers an early lead and although they had goalkeeper Adrian Parnis sent off, they seemed heading for victory. However five minutes in added time, Daniel Bogdanovic notched the equaliser.

Nadur Youngsters join SK Victoria Wanderers in second place thanks to a 2-0 win over Victoria Hotspurs with goals by Elton da Silva on the 62nd and Brandon Said ten minutes later.

In a match from the Relegation Pool, on Wednesday, a goal by Michael Pace on 66 minutes gave Munxar Falcons a 1-0 win over Xaghra United.

In the Melita Second Division, leaders St. Lawrence Spurs kept marching on with a 5-0 win over Gharb Rangers thanks to goals by Daniel Pace, a brace by Mambaye Boye and other goals by Stephan Cauchi and Jason Theuma.

Sannat Lions moved second thanks to a comfortable 7-1 win over Zebbug Rovers. Nicholas Micallef and Fernando de Andrade scored twice within the first five minutes with de Andrade, Laurent Pisani and Luke Attard increasing the lead to 5-0 by the end of the first half. Eric Gauci scored twice in the second half with Franklin Cassar scoring a consolation goal for Zebbug.

Ghajnsielem were held in a 2-2 draw by Qala Saints. Alan Cini and Francisco Mumford twice put Qala ahead but each time, Matthew Portelli and Damon Hili levelled matters.
