Ray Farrugia set to be appointed assistant national coach

zazu-farrugiaRay ‘Zazu’ Farrugia is set to be appointed assistant national coach with national coach Pietro Ghedin.

Farrugia was appointed as Under-21 coach in January 2011. In the UEFA Under-21 qualifying campaign 2011-13, Malta collected five points but in the current campaign, the team is yet to earn an points. This was Farrugia’s second spell as Under-21 coach after leading the team between 1998 and 2002.

Replacing Farrugia as Under-21 coach could be Silvio Vella – current coach of the Under-19 side, who was serving as assistant coach of the senior side for the past season.
