BOV Women's League: Birkirkara join Hibernians on top — Vittoriosa withdraw from Division 2

bov-women-first-division-2013-2014Birkirkara joined Hibernians on top the BOV Women’s First Division table as they defeated Raiders (Luxol) 8-0 on Tuesday. The two teams lead the way with 39 points but the Paolites have a game in hand.

Mgarr United beat Pembroke Athleta 4-1 in another match on Tuesday while on Sunday, Kirkop United defeated Gozo 2-1. Mgarr therefore join Gozo in third place despite having two games in hand.

bov-women-second-division-2013-2014In the BOV Women’s Second Division, Hamrun Spartans defeated Lija/Iklin 2-0 while Tarxien Rainbows were awarded a walk-over in the game against Vittoriosa Stars.

Vittoriosa withdrew from the competition and therefore their remaining matches were given as walk-overs.

With two matches to go, Hamrun Spartans now lead the table with 32 points, followed by Tarxien and Fgura on 31, Lija / Iklin 7 and Vittoriosa 4.
