Siggiewi claimed three precious points in the battle against relegation after beating second-placed Pembroke Athleta 2-1 in a match from the BOV Second Division.

Siggiewi are now third from bottom on 19 points, one behind Marsaskala and two behind Dingli Swallows.

For Pembroke, this was another setback in the race for promotion.

Fgura lead the way with 46 points, followed by Pembroke on 43, Mqabba 42, San Gwann 37, Zabbar and Mellieha 35, Gharghur 27, Senglea and Marsa 25, Dingli 21, Marsaskala 20, Siggiewi 19, Kirkop 17 and Mdina 9.
