Youth FA Under-11 events to be held in Marsaxlokk and Hamrun

youth-faThe Marsaxlokk Youth Nursery and the Hamrun Spartans Youth Nursery will be hosting the next two events as part of the Youth FA’s Fun Football, Education, Culture and More Under-11 Events. This season’s events have been given a new dimension by the Youth FA to include a cultural aspect of the locality of the organisers.

Marsaxlokk Youth Nursery, in collaboration with the Marsaxlokk Local Council, will be hosting the event on Sunday 30th March at the Marsaxlokk Complex between 09:00 and 15:00. There will be eight participating teams in this event namely Marsaxlokk, Pietà Hotspurs, Mosta, Balzan, Santa Venera United, Siggiewi, Gzira United and Cottonera United.

This Football Festival will commence at 08:30hrs with an Official Opening Ceremony including a parade by the Marsa Scouts Pipe & Drums Group followed by all the participating teams.

Besides the football matches between the participating teams, the players will have the opportunity to participate in other sports and educational activities. These activities mainly include a boat trip around the Marsaxlokk harbor, a Car Show by the Classic Ford Club Malta, St. John Ambulance, Malta Weightlifting Association, Archery, Birzebbugia Boy Scouts and Aerobics.

Hamrun Spartans FC Youth Nursery will be organising the Youth FA Under-11 event on Monday 31st March at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The nurseries of Ghaxaq, Hamrun Spartans, Mqabba, Qrendi, Safi, Sirens, Tarxien Rainbows, Zabbar St. Patrick, Zebbug Rangers and Zurrieq will be taking part in the event.

Besides the football matches between the participating teams, the players will have the opportunity to visit places such as the Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, where the remains of St. George Preca are kept. The young children will also have the opportunity to visit the Hamrun Scouts premises, which was previously a train station. Stephen Gatt will be leading a photography session at the Stadium throughout the matches for all those parents who would be interested in taking up such a hobby. During the break, parents and children will be entertained by a number of young singers from the locality of Hamrun, including Gaia Cauchi who has recently won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The general public is invited to attend these event and fully participate in the different activities.
