UEFA Under-17 Championship: Winning start for Portugal

UEFA-Under-17-Malta2014-logoPortugal scored a goal in each half to claim their first three points in Group B of the UEFA Under-17 Championship at the Gozo Stadium.

Renato Sanches put Portugal ahead with a shot from 25 metres which goalkeeper Robby McCrorie failed to hold.

Two minutes from time, substitute Luís Mata doubled the score with a long distance shot which caught the goalkeeper out of place after an erratic clearance by McCrorie.

On Monday, Portugal take on Switzerland at the Hibernians Stadium at 11:00 while Scotland face Germany at the Hibernians Stadium at 18:00.
